“The two families are local examples of what a new national campaign hopes to accomplish: encourage Spanish-speaking families to adopt in the U.S. foster care system. The Advertising Council is teaming up on the campaign with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for and Families and the Collaboration to AdoptUsKids.

About 514,000 are in foster care in the United States, about 115,000 of whom are available for adoption. The majority are black boys; Latino make up about 15 percent. Every year, more than 24,000 “age out” of the foster care system without having been permanently placed with families.”*
