No vote on illegal immigration bill – Indiana

Tagged:

“A House committee heard three hours of testimony this morning on Senate Bill 335, which would punish employers for hiring illegal immigrants.

But despite tight deadlines in a short session, there was no vote taken today and the bill is expected to be amended before its next likely stop, the House Ways and Means Committee.
Rep. Trent Van Haaften, D-Mount Vernon, who chairs the Public Policy Committee, was confident the bill can be amended and passed in time for it to receive full consideration by the full House.”*
