“Arlene Valles, a human resources consultant whose inspirational story touched hundreds of women in El Paso, died Monday of pneumonia. She was 47.

Valles is remembered as an advocate for women and the needy, and for having the courage to step forward as the YWCA benefactress of 2007.

Valles dipped into her savings and donated $10,000 to the annual luncheon.”*
