As Democrat Barack Obamas Maine victory gave him a clean sweep for the weekend, rival Hillary Clinton ran the broom through her high command Sunday - ousting longtime campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle.
The overhaul signaled growing anxiety inside Camp Clinton. Solis Doyle announced her resignation in an afternoon e-mail to staffers, handing over the reins to Maggie Williams, Clintons chief of staff from her First Lady days.
“Patti Solis Doyle has done an extraordinary job in getting us to this point - within reach of the nomination,” Clinton said in a statement. With Solis Doyle shifted to an advisory role, Williams “will lead our campaign with great skill toward the nomination.”"*
