As we peel back the layers from the exit surveys of voters across the country and specifically, here where we’ve been this week, some striking numbers pop out and offer hints for strategies looking ahead in big contests on both the Democratic and Republican sides. While the composition and the choices among voters vary from state to state, the sizable Latino population in Texas, for one, will be a bloc to watch.
We’re going to focus a little on immigration below, too. Not that immigration alone was a deciding factor in either the Democratic or Republican primary here. But it’s an issue that has drawn some of the most distinct differences among the candidatesespecially on the Republican side, and it’s one that Mitt Romney in particular pitched heavily here to many impassioned voters. “*
