The most recent poll that measures presidential preferences among Latinos in California points to Hillary Clinton as the big favorite.
But as Super Tuesday draws near, Latino supporters of Barack Obama have rallied on his behalf, raising the question of whether Clinton has the vote of California’s largest ethnic group in her pocket.
“I never really adopted that idea that Latinos were automatically going to support Hillary,” said Erica Padilla-Chavez, a member of the Soledad Unified School District board and a strong backer of Obama. “The argument came out of what happened in Nevada, and I don’t believe that’s true. I’m talking to Latinos everywhere and they say ‘Yeah, I’m with Obama.’”"*
