A group of Hispanic politicians, led by Miguel Martinez, a Dominican-American city councilman, drove cars in a caravan through heavily Hispanic sections of Upper Manhattan this morning in an effort to drum up support for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. The Latino Caravan, as it was billed in Mrs. Clinton’s campaign literature, made its way from 155th Street and Broadway, in Washington Heights, to 216th Street and 10th Avenue, in Inwood, where it ended with a small rally.
Representative Charles B. Rangel, a Harlem Democrat who spoke at the start of the rally, said, “We know the person we’re supporting and we know her family, as well,” evoking memories of the administration of her husband, President Clinton.”*
