“Statewide, the percentage of Latino voters in Georgia is still low at 1.2 percent. But it’s up from nearly nothing seven years ago.

The increase is most noticeable in Gwinnett County, which had only 43 Latino voters in 2001. This year there are nearly 10,000.

Still, Latinos aren’t voting in numbers approaching their share of the population – estimated at 7 percent.”*
