Farmers Branch, anticipating legal challenges to its new attempt to ban housing rentals to illegal immigrants, asked a federal judge Monday to immediately begin considering the measure’s constitutionality.
The ordinance, which the City Council adopted last week, would require all prospective tenants in the city to claim U.S. citizenship or legal immigration status when applying for an occupancy license.
