The Utah Attorney General’s Office says as many as 300 thousand identities have been stolen in the state. A bill to create a Document Fraud-Identity Theft Unit within the AG’s office, and support the hire of three new staff members, passed a House committee on Capitol Hill Friday.
Currently just one attorney and two investigators work on the crimes.”*
