“Single Touch Interactive, a leader in Abbreviated Dialing Codes (ADC), in partnership with Latino Movil, an international marketing and technology company, have launched an ADC program that keeps native Latin Americans living in the United States up to date by providing information about their home county directly to their phone.

The #LATIN ADC program connects subscribers
to their native country’s local news, sports, music, entertainment and immigration information. To sign-up for subscription alert packages containing local information in participating countries, users simply dial #LATIN (#52846) on their phone, select the country whose alerts they would like to receive and select a topic area in order to begin receiving alerts. Subscribers to this service receive this information by text message three times per day.

“The #LATIN program is addressing the need for foreign nationals living in the U.S. to stay connected with their home county,” says Anthony Macaluso, Founder and CEO of Single Touch Interactive. “We do this by providing subscribers with information about their country’s local interests as well as important immigration updates.”

The program has been launched in the United States in support of an initial group of Latin American countries which include: , , , and and will expand service to populations from additional Latin American countries in the coming months. The content provided through the program is available in Spanish.

Many of the participating countries’ embassies have selected #LATIN as their choice for communicating information in compliance with the Department of Homeland Security. This includes information regarding immigration programs, such as TPS and the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program, commonly known as the Green Card Lottery. Subscribers who choose to receive news from their community and immigration alerts for their country may do so with no additional fee.

“We’re proud to partner with Single Touch Interactive to offer the #LATIN program,” says Jose Rodriguez, Director of Latino Movil. “This is an easy way for the U.S. Latino community to interact and connect with Latino culture and content through the phone.”

The market for a service such as this is significant and growing. According to Movida, around forty percent of the United States’ domestic Hispanic is foreign-born and over two-thirds are of Mexican origin. “
