Networking Not Just In English Anymore

“Spanish speakers who want to connect with friends online now have a new way to do it: The social networking site Friendster.com recently began offering its services en español.

It’s one of several languages the website debuted recently, as it tries to grab a bigger share of the Web’s rapidly growing online communities. Friendster rolled out traditional Chinese in September, followed by Spanish, Korean and Japanese.

Like other social networking sites, Friendster allows users to share pictures, invitations, music and personal facts with friends they meet in the real world and online. And it isn’t alone in expanding the number of languages in which people can say, “What’s up?”"*
