“Univisión Chief Executive Joe Uva may speak only a little español, but his move into the Spanish-language media world is underscored in other ways. Such as the espresso machine in his office.

”Haim Saban sent around espresso makers to all the Univisión offices, so he’d have espresso wherever he visited,” Uva relates with a laugh, referring to one of the investors in the consortium that bought the company earlier this year. “I had to learn how it worked.”

Appointed nine months ago to Univisión’s top job, Uva had to do much the same with the Hispanic television and radio industry. He now says he’s hooked — both on rocket-fuel coffee and the Hispanic market.”*
