“The Department of Labor’s latest release of employment status within the Hispanic population brings forth evidence of the rising awareness of a hurting economy. Hispanics overall saw an increase in their unemployment rate, up a 0.6 percentage point to 6.3 percent in December, while the overall population experienced a 0.3 percentage point increase to 4.8 percent in that same time period. Since December 2006, Hispanics have seen a 1.4 percentage-point increase in their unemployment rates, while the overall population has seen a 0.6 percentage point increase. The number of unemployed workers calculates to 1.4 million unemployed Hispanics and 7.7 million overall in the month of December (2007). “*
