Identity theft has been a growing worry nationwide, but a rise in federal prosecutions against immigrants offers a new wrinkle on the problem. As the government develops more sophisticated electronic employment verification systems, undocumented workers are assuming real names and of U.S. citizens like Miranda to thwart detection at workplaces, to get driver’s licenses and to obtain credit.”*
