“Chile’s Senate passed a resolution on Wednesday formally protesting the United States government’s construction of a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

The building of the wall was begun in 1994 as part of the Operation Guardian border control initiative. In 2007, the U.S. government authorized continued construction.”*
