Archaeologists to hear about Penitentes
Tagged: Colorado, police
The Penitente movement, believed to date back to the 13th century in Europe, saw a rebirth in the early 1900s along the United States’ Rio Grande Valley.
Retired Pueblo Police Chief Ruben Archuleta will discuss the growth of the movement Thursday night at the monthly meeting of the Pueblo Archaeological and Historical Society. The talk will start at 7:30 p.m. after a short business meeting and is open to the public. It will be at the Southeastern Colorado Heritage Center, B Street and Victoria Avenue.”*
