A new statewide poll found Wisconsin residents divided on the question of whether the children of illegal immigrants should be allowed to attend local public schools, but overwhelmingly opposed to letting their older relatives apply for a driver’s license.
The Dec. 2-3 poll conducted for the Wisconsin Policy Research Institute Inc. found a 46%-46% deadlock on whether children of illegal immigrants should be in public schools. The survey, which found that 8% of those polled had no opinion, was done by Diversified Research.
But Research Institute President Jim Miller said a public-support “fault line” emerged on two other questions involving adult illegal immigrants:”*
