California Department Ships Truck To Mexico Town - (from Firebaugh to Tepalcatepec)

Indeed, it took a year of Rotary fundraising, endless paperwork, even a call to the President of Mexico for Firebaugh to give the fire engine to Tepalcatepec. The impoverished town is in the southern Mexico state of Michoacan.

At a handing-over ceremony Oct. 30 in front of the Mexican consulate’s office in Fresno, the Firebaugh police chief and mayor weren’t joking when they both said: “If she doesn’t work out, bring her back.”"*
