“One of the greatest Mexican blockbusters of the past couple of years, “El Violín,” opens tomorrow at Forum for a one-week run.

Francisco Vargas Quevedo’s debut feature revolves around three generations of street musicians in the state of Guerrero: Plutarco, (played by Angel Tavira), his son Genaro (Gerardo Taracena) and grandson Lucio (Mario Garibaldi).

They are also committed to a rural guerrilla opposing the Mexican military during a 1970s peasant revolt.”*
