Thank illegal immigrants for doing jobs no one wants

I share their frustration of having porous borders. We shouldn’t drop a welcome mat on the Mexico-United States border and tell everybody to come on down. We have Congress to thank for this mess, because it didn’t have the backbone to pass a comprehensive reform bill earlier this year.
Nobody, including our nation’s leaders, can get past the ideological terminology. Illegal alien or undocumented worker? Amnesty or path to citizenship? Press 1 for English and 2 for espa ol?
I’d suggest we all get together to sort out our differences, but then this column would have to end in “Happily Ever After.” Not going to happen.”*
