“A Mexican activist marked the 10th day of a hunger strike to demand better treatment of immigrants in the United States by camping out Monday on the sidewalk in front of the U.S. Embassy.

“I decided to sit outside the embassy to protest pacifically … to demand the legalization of our migrant
community in the United States,” said Elvira Arellano, a former illegal immigrant who turned to activism during a yearlong fight to stay in the U.S.”*
