“Minority teachers continue to be underrepresented in Ohio classrooms while the state’s minority student population grows, a new study found.

Only about 6 percent of the state’s teaching force is made up of minorities, according to a study released by the Center for Teaching Quality in North Carolina.

The Ohio Department of Education says about 14 percent of Ohio’s nearly 2 million public school students are minorities, and the number is growing every year.”*
