“Palladium Nights” brings back mambo era at Joyce Theatre – New York City

By When dancing was still considered essential for a night out on the town, New York may have well been the center of the universe.
It was here, in venues like the Palladium, where in the ’50s mambo mania caught fire and spread to the rest of the country and beyond.
Beginning Tuesday, the magic of those hot nights will come back to life at the Joyce Theater, where the Ballet Hispánico will perform “Palladium Nights,” accompanied on stage by the live music of the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra and Arturo O’Farrill.”*
