Tagged: , ,

“A group of nine Hispanic sisters, cousins and friends who grew up together in the southeast bottoms of Des Moines are the foundation of a nonprofit women’s group looking to help one of its own.

Women United for Women will host a benefit Dec. 1 for Connie Murphy of Bondurant, the stepdaughter of Women United for Women founding member Anna Murphy. Connie Murphy, diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments, has been unable to work since having surgery in September and will again undergo surgery after the new year.”*
