A call for help from the Vice Counsel of the Dominican Republic has resulted in a quickly growing effort to send food and supplies for those left hungry and homeless after Tropical Storm Noel hit the island nation last month.
The storm, which later became a hurricane, killed at least 85 people and left more than 70,000 homeless.

The two met at the city’s Hispanic Parade in September.”*
