Quakes look to build ties with Latino community – San Jose

They call them “Los Terremotos.”
The phrase – Spanish for “The Earthquakes” – has been splashed on advertisements and T-shirts around the region as part of the reconstituted San Jose soccer team’s strategic campaign to woo the region’s Latino population.
Hoping to rake in big bucks and build a die-hard fan base before opening day in April, the Earthquakes want to tap both the ethnic group’s passion for the sport and its increasing share of purchasing might.”*
