This little Lake County town is making history as the first Central Florida municipality to elect a Hispanic mayor.
Voters in the city of more than 3,000 overwhelmingly elected Feliciano “Filix” Ramirez — whose roots are planted in the immigrant community that has transformed Mascotte.
He will be sworn in today to serve a two-year term.”*
