“Phil Austin hopes that in 20 years there won’t be an organization like the Mesa Association of Hispanic Citizens.

“Hopefully, there would be no need for an advocacy group, and the society could work together for the benefit of all and not for the exclusion of any,” said Austin, association president and candidate for Mesa City Council District 5.

Until that day, the group continues to focus on education, economic development and leadership in Mesa’s Hispanic community.”*
