Knowledge is Power!

“Although from different countries, many of the 200 people inside the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church at Weston already shared the same language and faith.

It didn’t take long before hearty appetites were added to their common ground as folks filled plates from a buffet that included picadillo, roast chicken, yellow rice and black beans made by Julio Mata, a deacon of the congregation.

Surveying the spread, Mata said he was more than happy to cook a Latin-themed feast with help from his wife, Tibisay. The two days spent preparing dishes for the church’s annual Spanish Heritage Luncheon was well worth it, he said.”*
