““Is everybody happy?” asked a voice from the stage as the headed into the last stretch of their set at S.O.B.’s on Thursday night. The grinning, dancing audience — small but elated — made the answer obvious. No one onstage had spoken; the words were samples, but that didn’t make them any less sincere. The are a trio of producers and disc jockeys from Barcelona who aim for nothing less than euphoria.

They layer all sorts of things. The can write pop-structured songs, with verses and choruses, as well as dance tracks; they used lyrics in English, Spanish and fake French, mostly about music and dancing, from recorded voices. Their samplers and CD turntables also held phantom crowds singing “yeah yeah,” electronic beats and boops, Latin percussion, power chords, oldies and buzzy Moog notes. The music stayed upbeat and kept metamorphosing, never wearing out a sample or a gimmick.
