Knowledge is Power!
Adriana Chavez is a female Hispanic immigrant who has found a successful and enriching professional career at American Financial Group (www.eAmericanFinancial.com).
Adriana came to the United States in 1988 from Mexico as a 15-year-old teenager to join her mother. After successfully adjusting to the American culture, she was encouraged to enter the mortgage business by her husband who was a teacher and part-time real estate broker and joined American Financial Group in 1996.
Adriana originally started in an outbound marketing position and then was promoted to a loan officer. From the beginning of her career she has always reached out to the Hispanic community where she has the most affinity and where she felt she could offer the most help and the most value. As such, over 95% of Adriana’s current and past customers are Hispanic.
Their home buying habits can be different. They are not Internet-driven but prefer trusted relationships and personal attention in their financial transactions. “My philosophy is totally different than most mortgage loan officers. Most loan officers make a loan and you never hear from them again,” said Chavez. “I believe in a ‘client for life’ philosophy. My goal is to exceed my customers’ expectations by giving them incredible customer service, the best interest rate they can get and excellent mortgage planning advice. My goal is to have my customers so thrilled with my services that they return to me to help them finance their subsequent homes and they refer their friends and family to me.”
Over the last 10 years, she has grown into one of the most successful loan officers at American Financial Group, consistently being recognized as one of the Company’s Top Three Producers year after year. She has also built her own team and support staff to ensure that all of her past and current customers are given the attention they deserve.
American Financial Group (www.eAmericanFinancial.com) sees the Hispanic population as a great business market which is reinforced by the National Association of Realtors who recently announced that the number of Latino home owners in the U.S. vaulted a staggering 81 percent between 1995 and 2005.
Ironically, American Financial Group’s Co-Founder, Vince Tran, is a Vietnamese immigrant. Tran arrived in Orange County as a young man who did not speak English and was virtually penniless. Because of that background the Company has always been very sensitive in serving the unique needs of local immigrant and minority communities.
“Working with the Hispanic community has helped American Financial Group to continue to grow. It’s been good for our Hispanic customers, our Hispanic loan officers and the Company,” said Tran.
“I am a living testimony to the great career growth possible at American Financial Group. It is a company of great opportunity for both women and minorities,” said Chavez.
