“Maria Rodriguez-Salazar said she never experienced racism growing up. That changed when she moved to Washington three years ago.

The 11th-generation Texan said someone dumped a large amount of salsa on her front porch after she moved to Vancouver. She’s even been told to “go back to Mexico.”

“I’ve never been to Mexico,” said Rodriguez-Salazar, the Northwest national vice president for the League of United Latin American Citizens, a Hispanic civil rights group.”*
