Hispanic Business Magazine’s November Issue Analyzes Vehicle Purchasing Trends Among Hispanic Consumers

“The November issue of Hispanic Business magazine features its annual automotive report, which analyzes Hispanics’ affinity for new cars and the major automakers’ desire for attracting the Hispanic consumer. We examine which segments of the Hispanic population are buying vehicles, which vehicles are being purchased, and what methods the Big Three auto companies are implementing in an effort to capture the largest share of the Hispanic market.

A recent report from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics titled “The Consumer Expenditures Survey, 2005″ reports that Hispanic households spent $21.9 billion on new vehicles in 2005, more than double the $9 billion spent in 1994. The $12.9 billion increase accounted for more than 31 percent of the total increase in the U.S. market over the same period.

Also with gas prices becoming an increasing concern among consumers, we take a look at the “green” cars that auto companies plan on rolling out to dealerships across America over the next 10 years. These cars offer new technology, new fueling alternatives, and new styles that may be attractive to the eco-friendly Hispanic consumer.

Continuing with the auto motif, Francisco Codina, the Ford marketing executive who announced his retirement from the company in September, speaks on such topics as his baptism into the industry and his decision to retire in “The Final Say,” a Hispanic Business Q&A feature.

Lastly, the issue is complemented with stories on the presidential nomination campaigns and the courting of Hispanic voters, and the effects of the subprime lending debacle on the Hispanic homeowners.
