For 75 years, Texans have shown the world the thrill of frying — as in Fritos corn chips.
Like everything Tex-Mex, the tiny corny snacks originated in San Antonio, where a man named Doolin bought the business for $100 from a Mexican immigrant.
It has taken 75 years to find anything beyond the name of the mysterious man from Mexico, the entrepreneur whose restaurant chips turned into today’s $10 billion empire.
