“A Latino advocacy group is offering no-interest loans to help legal permanent residents in Houston who want to become citizens, but are unable to afford the $595 fee.

The program, administered by the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (), offers no-interest loans of up to $400 to legal residents who want to become U.S. citizens. Claudia Hogue, the director of civic education for the Educational Fund in Houston, said the organization has funding for 22 more $400 loans, which are offered only to low-income immigrants.”*
