“The civil suit also alleges Zepeda’s firing came in retaliation for her participation in union activities and for raising the issue of unpaid overtime.

“The station fired the only Hispanic woman it had,” said Zepeda’s attorney, Lori S. Haskell, in a phone interview. “… She followed their directives. She had gotten very good performance reviews, and then they fired her within about a week of her volunteering to be shop steward.”

KOMO general manager and vice president Jim Clayton declined to comment. A spokesman for Fisher said management doesn’t discuss personnel issues.”*
