“Although the number of people without insurance nationwide is very high in general, 32 percent of the Hispanic community lives with this reality.

“Many Hispanics without insurance have to put up with a serious medical condition until they cannot stand it anymore because they do not have the resources, and doctor visits are very expensive,” said Carmen Moller, a translator from WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh.

With presidential elections a little more than a year away, the most talked about candidates - Sen. Hillary Clinton, Sen. Barack Obama, Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani - all promise to solve the health care crisis in one way or another.”*
