Young Hispanics argue their way to U.S. competition – National Hispanic Institute’s debate and speech tournament
Tagged: student, TexasPosted on: October 26th, 2007“Under normal circumstances, Zachary Pierce might get in trouble for arguing with his brother, but not this week.
Any recent opposing opinions between the two have had an academic purpose. Zachary, a sophomore at Central Catholic High School, is in Austin today, along with students from four other San Antonio schools, to compete in the National Hispanic Institute’s debate and speech tournament.
The tournament features 200 top Latino high school students from across the nation, including San Antonio-area participants from Central Catholic, Keystone School, Incarnate Word High, Boerne High and Health Careers High School.”*
