Univision Partners with American Red Cross to Assist in Disaster Relief for California Wild Fires

“Univision Communications Inc., the nation’s leading Spanish-language media company, announced today that it has partnered with the American Red Cross to assist the fundraising efforts aimed at helping those affected by the raging wildfires in Southern California. Univision has enlisted its national and local television and radio stations, as well as its online platform in order to reach Hispanic Americans interested in contributing to these efforts.

As part of the massive, multi-platform effort, the Univision networks are taking full advantage of their cross-promotion capabilities to promote the fundraising efforts through public service announcements (PSAs) and special reports.

Joe Uva, Chief Executive Officer of Univision Communications Inc., commented, “We are saddened by the devastating wildfires that continue to blaze in Southern California. In its multi-platform efforts, Univision is featuring the following Spanish-language toll-free phone number (1-800-842-2200) set up by the American Red Cross. Additional efforts include:

* Television: Univision has produced on air public service announcements (PSAs) featuring Univision’s talent that encourages viewers to make a donation to the American Red Cross. The PSAs are airing on all three Univision Television Networks – Univision, TeleFutura and Galavisión. In addition, Univision continues its extensive news coverage across its three television networks.
* Radio: RadioCadena Univision has also produced on air PSAs featuring Univision Radio talent that encourages listeners to make a donation to the American Red Cross. In addition, RadioCadena Univision continues its extensive news coverage as well as special segments on public affairs programs.
* Online: Univision.com has extensive coverage of all wild fire-related news, testimonials, videos and photos. Users are visiting the website daily to share their stories and post photos in the local forums. The link and toll-free phone number to the American Red Cross is also provided to facilitate donations.
