Knowledge is Power!

On August 16, 2007, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced the appointment of John G. Cruz as the new appointments secretary, citing John’s commitment to excellence.

As a co-founder and active member of the Hispanic 100, John has helped form the organization into what it is today. He has been a great asset to all those involved in the Hispanic 100 and a wonderful friend to the Hispanic community.

The appointments secretary oversees the appointment making process to which the Governor is responsible. The appointments secretary sets guidelines for evaluating resumes, interviews and back- ground checks and is responsible for maintaining data on upcoming vacancies and potential appointees, as well as represents the Governor at public forums which provide opportunities to recruit candidates for appointment.

The Appointment process is not difficult, although few are familiar with the number of appointments available, and how to get them. This meeting will be a great opportunity to determine if you would like to be appointed, to what and how to go about seeking the appointment.
