Latin American short films hit the big time at Cortocircuito

“The annual Latino Short Film Festival of New York is back Thursday at NYU’s King Juan Carlos I of Spain Center in Washington Square.

The fourth Cortocircuito series (www.cortocircuito.us) features 44 short films from Latin America and the U.S. showcasing a growing interest in the medium.

“Short films are being seen less and less as the little brothers of feature films, and in places like Brazil, Colombia and Argentina, they are opening spaces in TV for them,” says Diana Vargas, the festival’s curator.”*
