“Groups that have been among the most vocal opponents of immigration reform proposals they claim would give “amnesty” to those here illegally are increasingly turning to the methods and rhetoric of traditional American hate groups, according to a study released on Tuesday by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).
“Under the guise of warning about the impact of illegal immigration….some anti-immigrant groups have…taken hateful and racist rhetoric and brought it into the mainstream,” said ADL director Abraham Foxman.
The ADL study looked at groups such as Mothers Against Illegal Aliens, the Federation for American
Immigration Reform and Americans for Legal Immigration Political Action Committee.”*
