‘Únete a la Onda Latina… ¡a Weber!’ – Top Five Finalists Asking For Your Vote to Be Named Best Hispanic Griller

“After reviewing hundreds of video entries from across the country, Weber-Stephen Products Co. has announced the top five finalists for the “Únete a la Onda Latina… ¡a Weber!” grilling contest, an exciting consumer contest for Hispanics to demonstrate their patriotic spirit and passion for outdoor grilling.

The contest, which launched in May, now features the videos of five U.S. Hispanics on its website (www.ondalatinaweber.com) who descend from Peru, El Salvador, Guatemala, Cuba, and Mexico. Each demonstrate their grilling skills and ask for people’s online vote to help them win the title of “Weber’s Latin-American King or Queen of the Grill.”

Online votes will be accepted until November 16, and the grand prize winner will be announced on Friday, November 30, 2007.

In addition to bragging rights, the grand prize winner will also be awarded two round-trip airline tickets (value of $3,000) to a selected destination in Latin-America, a professional grilling class, and an opportunity to appear in Weber’s next Spanish media campaign. The five finalists, along with 15 other semi-finalists, will also receive a Weber(R) Q(TM) 220 portable gas grill and Weber grilling accessory packet (valued at approximately $500).

Contestants were asked to submit an original grilling recipe and video demonstration to make a case why they should be chosen to represent their country of heritage and be selected to be a part of Weber’s Grilling Team. Twenty contestants were selected as semi-finalists based on creativity/originality, appropriateness to the theme, and clarity of expression.
