“R. Paniagua Inc. has created a prized and nationally televised championship sporting event out of Dominos which will culminate in the 2007 Hennessey World Domino Open at the Las Vegas Hilton during the November 16th weekend.

“We will be hosting players in Las Vegas from all over the world that will come to compete in this highly touted Domino tournament,” said Ralph Paniagua, President of R. Paniagua Inc. and producer of the Hennessy World Domino Open.

“To promote the World Domino Open, we will be holding VIP regional tournaments and press receptions at some of the finest Latino club venues in the US.”

The 2007 Hennessy World Domino Open is presented in association with and sanctioned by the Mexican and USA Domino Federations and the North American Domino Association.

“In a continued effort to build community-based ties to our Latino consumers, Hennessy is sponsoring the 2007 World Domino Open,” said Yvette Baez-Goss, Brand Director of Hennessey Cognac. “Hennessy recognizes the deep roots that Domino has to Mexican, Caribbean and South and Central-American Latino males – it gives us an opportunity to build relationships with these consumers, while simultaneously providing an outlet for the enjoyment of an important pastime. Hennessy is proud to be involved in such an exciting and culturally relevant endeavour, Ms Goss went on to say.”

The regional elimination events will take place in four major US Hispanic markets including New York on October 24 at the Latin Quarter Night Club, Miami on October 25 at the Mystics Night Club, Los Angeles on October 26 at Club Tatou, and Chicago on October 27 at Transit. Winners of each of the regional preliminaries will receive a trip for two to the Las Vegas finals. Over 100 players and local celebrity personalities will be invited to the preliminary events in each market, leading up to the finals at the Las Vegas Hilton.

The beautiful and world renowned Las Vegas Hilton will again be the host casino for the World Domino Open . “Dominoes is the tournament game of the future in the United States. The explosive growth of the Latin community in the USA make the Latinos that reside in this country, the most important Latin gaming market of the world. Travel to Vegas and play Dominoes…Perfecto! The perfect excuse to take your spouse, family and friends on a magical weekend escape” said Gonzalo De Varona, VP Casino Marketing at the Las Vegas Hilton.

“Dominoes” is a table game that has adorned the cultural landscape for generations in homes, social and country clubs. Now R. Paniagua, Inc. will continue the mission it began in 2005 when it presented the first Domino World Open in Las Vegas to position this cultural pastime in its much deserved glory.

Since the 2005 event and TV broadcast, RPI has created partnerships with regional and international Domino organizations to increase the participation of players. This event will be managed by the Mexican Domino Federation.

“We are pleased that that the sport of Dominoes has been recognized and given the prominence that it deserves and join other governing bodies in the exciting city of Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Hilton for this prestigious tournament,” said Ricardo Arias, President of the Mexican Domino Federation.

In 2007, the number of registered players has been increased by 300%. In the first quarter of 2008, the Hennessey World Domino Championship will be televised on national TV. Using the success of “The World Series of Poker” as a model, RPI will film and produce eight one hour TV shows of the World Domino Open to air on national TV.

In the past, RPI has also produced the Caribbean World Series on Fox Sports en Español, and is currently producing ‘Viva America TV’ and ‘Latin Beat’ on BET Jazz, as well as ‘Boxeo Caliente’.

All players must be at least 21 years of age. The Mexican Federation rules will be applied to the matches in open category competition. Guaranteed Prize totals of $52,000 will be awarded with each player being required to pay an entry fee of $250. The Tournament will feature a Team and Singles Tournament,

“Since 2005, Dominoes has created a tremendous excitement that has brought hundreds of players to tournaments to compete in this competitive game of skill. We at RPI are proud to be a catalyst for the game of Dominoes and its elevation to new levels of recognition and participation,” Paniagua concluded.
