“The increasing popularity of Salsa, Merenque and other Latin-inspired music has found a new home on , as the Morey Organization launches ’s first Hispanic station, WBON 98.5 FM – La Nueva Fiesta. The station is the only destination for the Hispanic community to find music by such Latin superstars as , , , , , , Frankie Negron and , among many others.

In addition to the wealth of Latin music programming they offer to Long Islanders, La Nueva Fiesta also will serve as Suffolk County’s information hub for news, entertainment and cultural events for the Hispanic community. La Nueva Fiesta’s target audience is 18-49-year-old second- and third-generation Latinos living in Suffolk County. La Nueva Fiesta joins Party 105 FM and the flagship station WLIR 107.1 as the newest station operated by The Morey Organization.

Furthermore, the Morey Organization has added Latin powerhouse Vic Latino to the station as Program Manager. Ever since leaving his #1-rated show on Party 95.3 in Orlando to join New York’s 103.5 WKTU, Vic Latino’s reputation as a leading personality has grown. During his five-year run with WKTU, Latino took his daily prime-time show to the coveted #1 slot in one of the country’s most difficult markets. Latino has earned additional critical acclaim and the attention of countless new fans as a result of his appearances on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” Most recently, the energetic disc-jockey and musical personality signed on to host a show on XM Satellite to bring some of the hottest club mixes to a national audience.

Well respected within the music industry for his ability to pick and make a hit, Latino has released six very successful Dance/Electronica CDs, all landing in the top five or number 1 position on the Billboard charts. His latest CD, Vic Latino presents “THRIVE MIX 3,” is his biggest collection to date and offers the nation exclusive mixes and songs from some of the biggest names in music. Latino’s musical expertise and energy will be a major factor in La Nueva Fiesta’s ability to attract ’s Latino and Latin music fans. “The launch of this new station with its focus on the Hispanic community presents an important and unique opportunity here on ,” Latino said.

“Launching a new station certainly doesn’t come without risk,” said John Caracciolo, President of The Morey Organization. “However, we believe we have a winning combination. With the overwhelming popularity of Latin music, along with an outstanding personality like Vic Latino, our new format will provide our Latino communities with music, news, information and community services, and it will be a win-win for everyone. We feel that La Nueva Fiesta is starting out on very solid ground,” Caracciolo added.”*
