“A weekend of events sponsored by United Third Bridge and the Florida-Puerto Rican Hispanic Chamber of Commerce begins Friday with a black-tie banquet and awards ceremony at the Imperial Hotel.
At city hall, plans call for Puerto Rican foods, vendors, talks by dignitaries, voter registration, children’s games, a dunking booth and informational booths from civic groups.
Samuel Lopez, president of United Third Bridge, said the money raised will go toward scholarships for Brevard County Hispanic students choosing careers as paralegals, police, correctional and probation officers, firefighters and nurses, as well as those who want to work in community service or attend college to play sports.”*
