“For the first time, Yahoo! serves as one of the official sponsors of the sixth annual presentation of Los Premios MTV , which will be broadcast from the Palacio de los Deportes (Sports Palace) in City Thursday, October 18. Yahoo!’s in depth coverage of Los Premios MTV, which began on October 11, includes interactive areas on (premiosmtv.yahoo.com) where fans can actively engage with the show that gathers some of the best talent in Latin American music.

Yahoo! is a promotional partner to MTV’s interactive initiative, where the audience is invited to participate before and during the show on multiple platforms. Yahoo! will provide various ways for music fans to get front and center online access, featuring behind-the-scenes artist interviews, rehearsals and photos, as well as opportunities for fans to vote on performances and awards.

Among the interactive areas available on the special Yahoo! site will be two online polls. The first will ask users to choose one of the songs that legendary modern rock band “The Cure” will play live on the show, and the second will ask them to vote live for the 2007 Fashionista Award, choosing the 2 best-dressed celebrities of the night.

“Yahoo!’s participation in Los Premios MTV gives our users yet another way to share their passion for music,” said José Rivera Font, general manager, Yahoo! Hispanic Americas. “Fans will be able to be part of the show and feel close to their favorite artists through the special coverage areas on the Yahoo! site,” he added.
