“The Puerto Rican Society in Waukegan presented scholarships to 40 college students Saturday night during its annual scholarship banquet. The scholarship is named after the late Edwin Montano, who was a leader in Waukegan’s Hispanic community and saw education as the key to success for the next generation.

His grandfather, Paulino Vega, was one of the founders of the Puerto Rican Society 50 years ago.”*
