“-Mega TV WSBS-22 and Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS) (NASDAQ: SBSA) are pleased to announce the appointments of Mr. Mauricio Gerson as Senior Vice-President of Programming and Development and Mrs. Maggie Salas-Amaro as Director of Affiliate Relations. The appointments of these two television veterans reflect the ongoing growth and expansion of Mega TV, a leading Spanish language television channel broadcast in South Florida that is in national distribution through the DirecTV Más platform.

Gerson has been a media executive and industry leader for close to 30 years, with experience in all areas of the industry. Before joining Mega TV, he was the Senior Vice President of Programming at Telemundo Network Group a division of NBC Universal, where he was responsible for more than 600 hours of Spanish language prime time dramatic series. Between 1994 and 2002, Gerson was head of USA Networks Latin America and responsible for all aspects related to the management of the network since its inception in 1994. Gerson holds a Master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Anahuac University in Mexico City.
Salas-Amaro has more than 15 years experience in television, and has worked in various areas including programming, production, marketing and news. Before joining Mega TV, she served as Director of Program Planning & Strategy at Telemundo Network Group, a division of NBC Universal. Salas-Amaro holds a Master of Management from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Florida International University.
